When did you begin woodworking?
I have always loved working with my hands. I started refinishing old furniture in my twenties and from there I moved onto making work tables, shelves and other useful items for the house, garden and garage. When I moved to Texas I fell in love with live edge wood and also began working with epoxy and wood.
Where do you get your wood?
In general a purchase my wood in a 100 mile radius around Austin. There are some great sawmills in the hill country southwest of Austin as well as sawmills east and southeast.
What finishes do you use?
I work with a variety of finishes from polyurethanes, clear epoxy overcoats, tung oils and waxes. One of my favorites is a specialty finish called Polyx Oil that provides the benefits of oils and waxes to provide both a beautiful sheen and protection from dirt and liquids.
What is an Epoxy River Table?
Epoxy rivers tables are wood tables that combine the structure and beauty of natural wood with a ‘river’ of colored epoxy between two separate slabs of wood.
What I do
I create one-of-a-kind wood furniture and decor with an emphasis on texture
